Sigma-Aldrich Laborchemikalien GmbH Seelze

Sigma Seelze

The production facility for inorganic and organic chemicals and solvents has been in existence since 1902 and after several name changes, was taken over by Honeywell Specialty Chemicals Seelze GmbH. At this time, Sigma Aldrich took over the laboratory chemicals division of Riedel de Haen GmbH and continued operations under the new name Sigma-Aldrich Laborchemikalien GmbH.

Sigma-Aldrich Laborchemikalien GmbH employs 140 people at the Seelze facility and generates annual sales of around 53 million euros. The product range includes approx. 4,000 inorganic and organic chemicals. Special emphasis is on the production of buffer solutions, volumetric solutions (FIXANALE), analytical specialties such as highly purified analytical standards (PESTANAL, OEKANAL, VETRANAL), and the reagents for Karl Fischer titrations (HYDRANAL). In 2009 the HYDRANAL laboratory attained DIN EN ISO 17025 accreditation. The processes at the facility continue to be ISO 9001/2000 and ISO 14001 certified. The quality management system necessary for this is used to promptly detect and avoid potential process risks.
